Have you heard of Primary?

If you live in the Lenton, Radford or The Park, then you need to know about Primary.  It is tucked away at the bottom of Seely Road, on the Lenton Triangle in the beautiful old building that was once Douglas Road Primary School.  The rooms and corridors which were once buzzing with the sound of local children are now a quiet, serene space providing a home to a wide variety of art exhibitions and artists’ studios. Exhibitions and events are run throughout the year with something for everyone, from the serious art critic to families with children looking for holiday activities.

Primary are keen for local community involvement and have organised several local projects such as ‘What is Lentonness’ and a tour around Radford, led by children from Mellors Primary School.  They also hold regular talks by local residents about a variety of interesting subjects, open to anyone interested, called ‘Tell Me Something I Don’t Know’.

Primary is also home to the fabulous Small Food Bakery, where fresh bread, cakes and pastries are baked on the premises.  There is a small café where you can sample the goods or order your fresh produce to collect.  They also serve a delicious dinner every Thursday evening!
