The University of Nottingham Students’ Union is a registered charity governed by the Charities Act 2006 and the Education Act 1994. We’re also a registered company covered by the Companies Act 2005.
Most importantly we’re your main representative channel, which means we’re here to promote your views, interests and welfare to the University and beyond.
For many, university is the first step into independence and everything that comes with it. This means it’s a place both to learn and to make mistakes, as well as somewhere to take part in activities, meet new people and make memories. It’s our job to be there for you throughout.
As a Union our role is to find out what you, our members, want, and if we can’t provide the things you need we’ll help you to influence key stakeholders who might. We represent and support you while providing all kinds of extra stuff to enrich your experience, whether you want social, cultural, sporting or just recreational activities.
We’re also here to ensure each of you has the opportunity to share your views. All of you have the right to belong and to find your place within the Union and local community, as well as to make your voices heard.
If all that seems like a bit of a mouthful, there’s a much simpler way of putting it; we’re here to ensure every one of you can fulfil your potential, meet your aspirations and have an incredible time at University.
